I’m an actor, writer, and filmmaker. Most recently, I created, wrote, starred in the Amazon & Funny Or Die short film, Soojung Dreams Of Fiji which won the Audience Award at the Asian American International Film Festival. I’ve guest starred on Search Party on TBS and the feature film The Outside Story opposite Brian Tyree Henry. Up next I’ll be a recurring guest star on M. Night Shyamalan’s series for Apple TV. I’m in post-production on my latest sketch comedy series, UR Asian Friend with Upright Citizens Brigade and Nerdist, which I co-wrote and star in. Some of my YouTube series and videos, Quiet Tiny Asian and Drive-by Street Harassment are galaxy-wide hits with over 2 million views.
As a comedian, my comedy duo SJ&GINNY created and produced Urban Teach Now, a half hour comedy pilot about young teachers in New Orleans based on my experience with Teach For America. Urban Teach Now was an Official Selection at NYTVF, iTVFest, and a third round finalist for the 2017 Sundance Episodic Lab.
Some other cool stuff: NBC Asian America called me an emerging Asian American voice in their #RedefineAtoZ campaign. I’m also a proud company member of The Story Pirates performing sketch comedy in schools and as a voice actor on The Story Pirates podcast. I trained in improv and sketch comedy at the PIT, UCB, and The Annoyance. As an actor, I studied at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting, T. Schreiber Studios and graduated from Cornell University with a B.S. in Public Policy. A hobby of mine is vision boarding while sexting, a self care double whammy.
